About TE H2

TE H2 aims to deliver globally impactful renewable energy projects that provide affordable, sustainable, reliable and accessible energy to as many people as possible.

TE H2 is a dedicated joint-venture between TotalEnergies, a global energy major and Eren Groupe, experts in renewables origination and development. Created upon the successful acquisition of Total Eren (a renewable energy power producer with 3.7 GW of operating assets) by TotalEnergies, TE H2 is led by David Corchia, the former founder and CEO of Total Eren and CEO of EDF Renewable Energy. 

In Australia, TE H2 is developing a portfolio of multi-energy projects to deliver the lowest cost of energy for renewable power and hydrogen production​. Our multi energy projects include:

•        Mixed renewable generation technologies to deliver the lowest cost of energy and energy profile for competitive dispatchable renewable electricity and complementary H2 production

•        Geographical coverage across Australia with access to existing ports and options to connect into the existing grid/transmission lines

•        Capability to provide competitive renewable power and molecules to decarbonise energy-intensive industries

Role Description

Based in Melbourne and reporting to the Managing Director APAC, seeking an entrepreneurial self-starter with greenfield renewable energy experience across development, financial modelling, project structuring and project optimization to lead the development of large-scale wind, solar, battery and green hydrogen projects in Australia.

The role will involve working collaboratively with the H2 Marketing Team in Paris and in close coordination with the Development Team in Australia to advance TE H2’s portfolio of projects to commercial viability.

Key Responsibilities

Supported by an experienced and driven team your key responsibilities will include:

· Origination of renewable H2 opportunities including partnerships, joint-developments and/or acquisitions;

· Experience in securing and negotiating Power Purchase Agreement (PPAs) and other energy sale contracts in the electricity and/or gas markets;

· Economic financial modelling to determine optimisation profile for GW-scale renewable H2 projects across generation, midstream (substation and water) and downstream for hydrogen and hydrogen derivatives (ammonia, e-SAF, etc);

· Building strategic relationships with key planning and regulatory bodies in the various jurisdictions;

· Engage with stakeholders, policy advisors, industry groups to shape renewable H2 policy in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region;

· Proactively dealing with and solving issues;

· Working closely with the Development Team to guide the commercialisation of GW-scale renewable H2 projects;

· In close coordination with the TE H2 Marketing Team in Paris, develop engagement strategies with potential offtakers of TE H2’s projects in Australia;

· Development offtake strategies and negotiate offtake agreements across multi-energy spectrums such as renewable hydrogen, electricity, energy firming services and other hydrogen derivatives;

· Mentor, lead and provide guidance to team members, including direct reports such as the Business Developer (VIE); and

· Ad hoc duties, as required.

Required Skills & Competencies Qualifications

· Degree in Finance, Commerce or a related subject from a reputable University Skills and experience

· Experience in developing large scale renewable energy projects, with proven ability to deliver project pipeline;

· Sound understanding of planning frameworks for renewable H2 projects;

· At least 6 years project development management experience in the energy sector in Australia;

· Up to date knowledge of market trends and the emerging renewable energy sector;

· Strong financial modelling skills including knowledge of VBAs;

· Experience in negotiating Joint Development Agreements (JDAs), Shareholder Agreements, etc;

· Experience in negotiating of Power Purchase Agreements;

· Strong Project Management skills and a highly organised approach to work;

· High level negotiation skills;

· Strong communication skills including written and presentations;

· Current Drivers Licence; and

· Able to travel nationally as required.
