About the role

Are you a Civil or Structural Engineer with a passion for building products and systems? CSR is seeking a Building Systems Engineer to join our Technical Compliance & Engineering team, supporting our Hebel portfolio and broader CSR products and systems across ANZ.

This role focuses on technical compliance and engineering for Hebel and broader CSR building systems. Hebel is a high-performance building product made from Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC), used for walls, floors, and external cladding. It is strong, lightweight, versatile, easy to install, offers superior insulation, and is highly fire-resistant due to its non-combustible nature and steel reinforcement.

You will join a team that combines experience, technical expertise, and innovative thinking to develop solutions that meet regulatory and market requirements. With a collaborative culture and a focus on technical excellence, our engineers are at the heart of driving CSR's product performance and compliance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop engineered building system solutions incorporating CSR products, including Hebel, to meet internal and external customer needs.
  • Ensure CSR products/systems comply with NCC requirements and relevant Australian Standards.
  • Produce, maintain, and control technical documentation such as manuals, guides, design tables, test reports, certificates, and installation instructions.
  • Support bespoke project solutions and provide subject matter expertise for New Product Development (NPD) projects.
  • Engage with CSR marketing, sales, field technical teams, external consultants, and industry testing authorities

About You

  • Qualifications: Tertiary degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (essential).
  • Experience: Previous experience in technical compliance, system engineering, or NPD roles; hands-on experience with building product development and system solutions.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of NCC, Australian Standards, and building construction systems.
  • Skills: Strong project management, internal and external stakeholder engagement, results-driven, with a broad understanding of multi-product system integration (walls, cladding, floor construction).
  • Desirable: Experience in technical testing, structural or fire performance assessments, and producing technical or design manuals.

Why Join CSR?

  • Collaborative, supportive leadership with an open-door policy.
  • Career growth opportunities within a leading national business.
  • Strong work-life balance, with a supportive and collaborative team culture.
  • Rewarding career with on-the-job learning, development, and upskilling opportunities within and across our brands
  • Supportive and team-oriented culture that fosters innovation and inclusion. You'll be surrounded by talented colleagues who are passionate about their work and committed to helping each other succeed.

  • Enjoy a dynamic, site-based role where no two days are the same.
