Protech Rail is seeking experienced Aluminothermic (AT) Welders to join our team on a range of rail infrastructure projects across NSW, QLD, and beyond.
We offer both ongoing roles and short-term shutdown work, with flexible options to suit your lifestyle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform aluminothermic welding to a high standard
- Assist in the replacement and renewal of rail infrastructure (sleepers, rail, ballast, fasteners)
- Operate and maintain hand tools and minor mechanical equipment safely
- Maintain a clean and safe worksite
- Collaborate effectively with team members and represent Protech professionally
- Coordinate the worksite effectively
- Ensure all work complies with network standards and OH&S regulations
- Current RIW subscription
- Sydney Trains CON number (highly desirable)
- Current Thermit/RailTech welding qualification
- Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure
- QLD WET & SARC card
- Valid driver’s licence (HR licence highly desirable)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as an AT welder
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screen
