Key duties of the role are;
- Assisting in providing tax advice to clients, including attendance to client meetings where required;
- Assisting in advising clients on the effects of tax on individuals and business activities’ and providing strategies for asset protection and tax minimisation; and
- Assisting in training/mentoring junior staff, including induction for internal business processes.
- Preparation of income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships;
- Preparation of financial reports for companies, partnerships and trusts;
- Examining financial accounts and records and computing taxes owed according to prescribed rates, laws, and regulations;
- Ensuring that clients comply with periodic tax payments (e.g. BAS, IAS, Income Tax, FBT), information reporting, and other compliance obligations
- CA/CPA qualified or close to completion.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
- Strong understanding of corporate structures (e.g. trust, companies and partnerships).
- Experience with Div 7a, CGT (sale of shares and property) and if you have experience with sales of business this is a bonus.
- 5 years + experience working within a boutique, Big 4 and or Mid-Tier accounting firm in Australia.
- Permanent Resident or Citizen.
