About the role
Savage Industries Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Heavy Road Transport Fitters to join our team onsite at a mine near Mackay, Queensland. This is a casual position, offering a 7/7 roster Days and Nights. Accommodation and meals included while on roster
What you'll be doing
Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on heavy road transport vehicles and trailers
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues and breakdowns.
Dismantle, inspect, and replace worn or defective parts
Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
Maintain accurate records and documentation
Ensure workshop tools and equipment are properly maintained
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
What we're looking for
Australian Recognized Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle or Heavy Commercial Road Transport ( Essential )
Sound knowledge of heavy vehicle mechanics, including engines, transmissions, and braking systems
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
Ability to work alone and part of a team
Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
Attention to detail and a commitment to quality work
A current driver's licence and your own tools
Standard 11 and CBM ( or willing to obtain )
