Who are we looking for?

• 2 plus years of retail experience in the facilities and/or property industry.
  
• Building trade background is preferred but not essential.
  
• Significant work experience and demonstrated success in a similar role or related industry.
  
• Effective communication skills – written communications are succinct.
  
• Ability to analyse and resolve basic issues.
  
• Demonstrates initiative and a proactive approach to work.
  
• Supports manager/team decisions.
  
• Proven track record of contract and contractor management
  
• Must have a valid driver’s license and own reliable form of transport.
  

The Role
We are looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to support the Operations Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of prestigious urban retail assets located in Northern Sydney and the CBD. This role plays a key part in the smooth and efficient management of the buildings and their services, ensuring a safe and functional environment for all occupants and visitors.

Working closely with both the Operations Manager and Centre Manager, you will help coordinate the strategic and operational aspects of the properties, including building systems, grounds, and services. The role requires a practical, hands-on approach and a commitment to operating within set budgets, procedures, and compliance frameworks established by Knight Frank and the client.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure high standards of presentation and asset condition.
  
• Act as the primary contact for technical and maintenance matters across a portfolio of retail centres.
  
• Manage essential building services, including air conditioning, lifts, and fire safety systems.
  
• Procure and oversee service contracts to meet compliance, risk, and statutory requirements within budget.
  
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to enhance operational efficiency.
  
• Monitor energy and water usage to support sustainability targets and building performance.
  
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, tenants, and service providers.
