ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYThe Audit, Safety and Risk team sits within the Governance and Risk Directorate and is responsible for providing a wide range of internal services to the organisation focused on risk, insurance, audit and work health and safety.
The recipients of the 2022 Safework NSW – Work Health and Safety Excellence Showcase award for Champions in Large Business (Government) category, the team are concentrating on driving a collaborative approach to educating staff on safety matters that impact their day to day life. In addition, we are also ensuring Council’s internal audit plan targets our high risks areas and complies with relevant laws, standards and legislation, and making improvements across our claims process.
In contributing to the overarching vision, the Senior Coordinator Internal Audit and Risk is responsible for seeking to accomplish Council’s objectives by bringing a systematic disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes. This includes coordination of Council’s Enterprise Risk Management system, insurance policies and claims, contractual oversight of Council’s outsourced internal audit provider and the audit plan.
